Discussions about Chatbots connected to AI have taken an unexpected time-out. Some companies have banned tools like ChatGPT citing information security concerns, whereas others have gone all-in on generative AI.
Amongst the ones who have gone all-in are money managers (Asset Managers and Hedge Funds) which are increasingly using OpenAI Inc.’s ChatGPT for marketing and summarizing documents – and that’s it? Yes, since the SEC is in the process of issuing new guidelines as to risk management principles to markets and investors alike when AI is making trades and recommendations.
In less money-sensitive sectors the move is still going on: Uber Technologies Inc. is developing its own bot, Pearson and Coursera are preparing the back-to-school with AI.
In Europe, While the continent does not want to ban AI and Chatbots, the EU has been leading the charge in AI regulation, becoming one of the first in the world to take wide-reaching action.
On a micro level, companies are benefiting from AI and specific cloud services are AMD, Nvidia, TSMC and others are benefiting; though TSMC's share price has consolidated recently by close to 10%. Yet, don’t forget to look at Adobe which could hammer out a new AI-based too for its designer customer base – that could be cool for investors too.
Knowledge is power.
